As we announced a few days ago, yesterday a new patch was released and now you can update your game to version 1.5/1.6. More than a patch, actually, it's an upgrade of the game, as all the new World Adventures' interactions, but all the adventures-related items and functions, are inserted in the base game.

You can find the complete list of changes on the official website, right here.

This decision has been made in order to give players the freedom to share their files. Even those who don't have World Adventures, for example, can download the recolor of a staircase or build a basement.
Unfortunately, however, due to this special event, this update is buggy. The most common error players - amongst which the undersign - experienced is the impossibility to save the game: if you click on Save, in fact, the game loads and loads and then the Error 16 - Cannot Save pop up window appears.

Many players have tried to search for a remedy and they reached the same solution suggested by the EA team in the following statement..

We have been made aware of an issue you may encounter while trying to save your game after installing The Sims 3 World Adventures or updating your game. The Sims 3 World Adventures and the Game Update have changed the way your save files are created, which can lead to an error during your gameplay when you save your game.

If you encounter an error that says “Error Code 16″ please use ‘Save As’ to save your game instead. This will allow you to create a new save file and circumvent this error.

If you are beginning an entirely new game or starting in a new neighborhood, you will NOT encounter this issue. We are working to address this and will update you as soon as possible.

Now, the undersign has however tried to play with an entire new family, and actually I didn't get the error 16 when I saved the first time. When I saved a second time, instead, I did had the error 16.
In short, if you're planning to download this patch, please make a back-up copy of your game data.

Last but not least, as this patch updates the game with the new EP's functions, if you're planning to buy World Adventures soon, you should not install the patch at all. We're sure the team will release a further patch soon, in order to solve these issues...
